This is a summary of North Carolina beach homes with an elevator and oceanfront homes for sale with an elevator. In past few years I’ve seen such high demand for people wanting a home near the beach that is usable for those with concerns of having trouble using stairs in the future. Also I’ve sold some oceanfront homes in north carolina to clients with disabilities that absolutely needed an elevator in place now.

The cost of installing an elevator varies widely depending on whether one installs one just outside the house going through the decks or if they have to cut out a hold in the oceanfront home. I’m guessing the price varies from $10,000-30,000.
Update from this article it looks like cost for installing elevator that has a shaft in place –pretty rare– is $45,000. Although there is a type of elevator called a pneumatic lift elevator. You can read all about them and the costs thereof here North carolina elevator homes on the beach.
“Pneumatic lifts take up less space and can be added nearly anywhere, but are very visible within the home. They can be retrofit nearly anywhere for around $35,000, making them the most affordable choice when retrofitting, although the smallest and least attractive.”
